The animals are captured on camera riding a miniature sleigh, nuzzling up against a tiny seasonal tree and even appearing to post a Christmas card in a scaled down postbox - all against a snowy backdrop. The heart-warming photos were taken by Geert Weggen in the garden of his home in Bispg?rden, Sweden, where he had laid out the toys in the hope that the squirrels would interact with them. The 51-year-old photographer said he was delighted when the animals came out to play. SEE OUR COPY FOR DETAILS Please byline: Geert Weggen/Solent News ? A red squirrel pushes a tiny wheelbarrow full of apples as another helps with the 'harvest', in this charming set of photos. The wooden cart is filled with wild crab apples and as the inquisitive squirrels investigate it they appear to be hard at work on the Autumn harvest.
Photographer Geert Weggen, 49, spent six weeks building the apple cart 'set' for the squirrels in his garden, before watching and waiting for the curious creatures to explore it. Mr Weggen, Bispgеrden, Sweden, said: "It is wonderful seeing squirrels carrying things and always great to capture those moments. SEE OUR COPY FOR DETAILS.

Delightful squirrels celebrate the upcoming fashion weeks
To celebrate the up-coming fashion weeks starting in September in London, Paris, Milan and New York, photographer, Geert Weggen has created a delightful fashion photo series with his squirrels.
In Geert’s photos, the squirrels are making their own clothes by spinning their own wool. The squirrels are wild and live in a forest just outside of Geert’s house in Sweden. He has created an outdoor photo studio – just 3 metres from his kitchen window - where he leaves food hidden in various props for the squirrels to find. The squirrels come to the studio every day via the trees and Geert has formed a lovely bond with the animals.
Geert loves the fact that the squirrels look so human like in the photos, especially when they are interacting with the props. It took him 2 months to complete this series and hi9s favourite part is that the series ends with the squirrels selling their clothes at a market.
“It is very time consuming to find the props. Every day I am scouring the internet looking for new props or I make the props myself. I work with the squirrels seven days a week, year after year” says Geert.

A curious red squirrel investigates a dandelion by burying its nose into it, leaving seeds all over its face. Dandelion seeds suddenly burst into the squirrel's face as it gets up close to inspect it before they float away. The squirrel seems excited by the plant and looks as if it is taking a sniff it or even nibbling on it when it buries its face inside it. Professional photographer Geert Weggen captured these sweet shots in his back garden in Bispgarden, Sweden. SEE OUR COPY FOR DETAILS. Please byline: Geert Weggen/Solent News ?
